Body confidence in dresses 🌿 I hated my curve-less waist and thought that if I could somehow change my body, I would be happier. But it doesn’t work like that. Know that you’re not alone. Just because you don’t see people in dresses with the same body type as you, doesnt meant that dresses aren’t for you!!! There’s articles that say “dress for your body shape” and “what not to wear if you have *insert inanimate object* body shape”. Those articles made me realise that I have a wide torso, no curves and I should wear clothing that made me appear to have curves. I didn’t know why I had to make myself appear to have curves. It made me feel like my body wasn’t good enough as it was. I was so insecure about what I was wearing, especially with dresses. Also adding in that tummy pouch/bump that bloats whenever you eat or drink! I worried that I looked pregnant and hated the way dresses accentuated this bump. But we should realise and accept the fact that people have these things, it’s absolutely normal and does not need to be stressed about. No one has a flat tummy all the time and all year round. Yet nobody realises this because it’s not talked about or shown on social media as much as flat tummies are flaunted and glorified. Don’t let articles or anyone, including yourself, make you feel bad about your body. We shouldn’t be compared to objects, because we are not objects. We are all unique and have different bodies. We’re hyper aware of every little thing on our bodies because we see ourselves every day. So learn to accept and appreciate your body for the normal things it does rather than tearing it apart. Allow yourself to live, don’t let a small thing make you hate your body or stop you from wearing what you want. Wear things that make you feel cute, ignore and unlearn these stupid societal rules that have been formed!!! Don’t take your body for granted. Love it for allowing you to function everyday Your body is not a trend. Don’t treat it like one. ----------------------------------------- . . . #bloating #selfconfidenceiskey #learningtolovemyself #iamworthit #bekindtoyourself #changeyourthoughts #wearwhatyoulike #bodyshape #believeinyou
