I just can’t stop staring at this picture and I love what @artshapedphotography says about it. Labor intensely brings out so much of what we face every day in motherhood ♥️ — #Repost @artshapedphotography with @get_repost ・・・ The Roaring Goddess. This is a personal favorite of mine. It embodies all that is motherhood, childbirth and womanhood. I remember being a touching distance from this mom at this point. I remember the way she held onto her labor through out the day to make sure her first child was emotionally safe, fed and taken care of. Until the moment her daughter went to bed and finally this warrior could tackle facing the monsters of labor. Oh yes, monsters. They always show up in some shape or form. Doubt, tiredness, fear, loneliness, past stories we have told ourselves a million times. Yet they are part of the process. Our mind struggles, but our heart leads the way to find that light, that safe haven that lulls our baby. Our womb. Even when we wish we could just pass the turn..oh it would be so easy...just for once. Instead the courage of a lioness, the wild roar of our deepest strength wraps us with a willpower of steel. She did it. We can do it. Always.
